ABOUT KRISTIE

2006 Opening
Q&A With Founder and Owner Kristie Lowrey

Born and raised/Family- Kristie was born and has been raised in Muskogee her whole life.  She and her husband D'Wayne have been married 15 years, and have 2 wonderful boys.  If you shop frequently at Kristie's Scrub Shop, you have probably seen them at one time or another.

This shop started out as a hobby, but Kristie's pashion for fashion and helping those who help heal quickly evolved into one of the finest medical apparel shops in the region.

Kristie attended Northeastern State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Performance.

Kristie worked for a local pharmacy for 10 years.  While working there, she helped start up and run the uniform department until their closing.  Kristie knew that there was a need for a uniform store in this part of Oklahoma. After a lot of thought, she and her husband D'Wane decided that the dream of one day owning their own business could become a reality.  So in December 2006, Kristie's Scrub Shop opened it's doors for business.

What do you like about your company? Kristie: "I love my customers!  I love seeing them when they first come in when starting nursing school, getting their first job, then continuing with their career.  That's one reason why I choose not to sell online. I want to see my customers face to face. I like the small, home town feel, the personal aspect of it all."

What keeps you going? Kristie: "Same reason as above, I just enjoy what I do.  Yes, it does get stressful sometimes, but I still enjoy getting up and going to work every day."

What does the future hold for Kristie's Scrub Shop? Kristie: "I plan on being here in the future.  When Diesel was 4 in preschool, they had a discussion about what they wanted to do when they grew up.  Most kids had the typical answer, fireman, policeman, dr., nurse, vet.  Not Diesel!  He said he was going to grow up and work at Kristie's Scrub Shop!  On one hand, as a parent, you kind of think, let's aim a little higher in the goals area. Ha ha! But then, I felt proud that I was a role model to him and that he saw what I do as an important job."
